Covidien

Covidien traces its roots to the Kendall Company, a Massachusetts textile business founded in 1903 that grew into a medical products maker. Tyco International bought Kendall in 1994 to enter healthcare, and spun the healthcare division off as the independent company Covidien in 2007.

Medtronic agreed to acquire Covidien in 2014 in a deal valued at about US$42.9 billion, completed in early 2015.

Covidien is now part of the Medtronic group.
